I find spring a nice time to reflect on the great things to come. New growth, opportunities, development and concerts. I am lucky to have all four!
We had a great week at BRMS in lessons and rehearsals. We talked about intonation, tone, mouthpieces, attitude, what is a real phrase and laughed a lot. How much better can a week get...well, it is now spring break.
I am heading down to North Carolina with my awesome daughter who is a champion swimmer (and son, wife-and my parents). This gives me pause to think about how important my family is. Both as a father myself, but also as a son to my parents. We receive so much happiness from our family and community.
I am also excited to just be "in the moment" for a few days. Just enjoy the beauty and blessings around me. I do that everyday as I laugh and get inspired by the students in school, but now I can devote all my attention and respect towards my family. Sometimes life gets so weighted down that we forget to enjoy the love all around us. Spring... Spring provides us a gentle reminder to take the time to "smell the roses." Or, maybe just recognize that the roses are right in front of you.
Thank you to all my students, parents, teachers, friends and community that share the common vision of peace and life through music and the arts.
Have a wonderful Spring BreaK!!
