I would like to take a couple of minutes to review the events since Friday:
Friday, May 9th: The 7/8 grade Symphonic Band attended the "Music in the Parks" Festival. We performed two fantastic pieces and was adjudicated by two college professors. The band performed at very high level and received many great compliments. However, the professionalism and spirit of the band awarded us the covenanted "Esprit De Corps" trophy for the forth year in a row. WOW! I am so impressed with how our musicians performed musically and as future leaders.
After the performance we went to Dorney Park and enjoyed the rides and wonderful weather!
Tuesday, May 13th: The 6th grade Concert Band performed their "Spring" concert. I can not begin to tell you how much they have improved since September! One of the greatest parts of being a teacher is witnessing the growth of skills, knowledge and passion that the students put into the music. Very impressive!
Thursday, May 15th: The 7/8 grade Symphonic Band performed their "Spring"Concert. This concert was a blast! It was obvious that everyone was having a great time. The students performed with such pride and poise that I found myself lost in the moment. I even saw the audience wave their hands back and fourth during "Believe!" The energy was explosive. The music was moving. The concert was mind bending!
The Honors Ensembles and Encore Jazz also performed on the Tuesday and Thursday concerts. I am so impressed with the talent in BRMS. Congratulations and I can not wait till next year!
Rock on!
